Travels on a fish

Travels on a fish

While preparing the performance of Schubert’s Winterise for cello and pianoforte (watch the concert on BreraPlus.org), we were struck by the serendipitous assonance of the piece’s title with that of a utopian children’s story written in 1923 by the niece of Sigmund Freud – Die Fischreise (Travels on a fish). From this coincidence was born the project to create a children’s opera based on the story, to be performed by the marionettes created specially by the company Carlo Colla, with music by Andrea Melis.

This video prepared by Libri Finti Clandestini for CIRCI is a tiny preview of the performance, which will take place at the Biblioteca Braidense in the weeks before Christmas.
